The federal agency reported Thursday that permits of $549.9 million in the Calgary census metropolitan area in September were down 26 per cent from August. However, on a year-over-year basis permits increased by 0.4 per cent. It said Calgary will continue to see job growth above its 10-year average of 17,800 with employment growing by 21,600 this year and by 22,800 next year. “Reduced oil prices should have minimal effect for the 2015 starts outlook, but, if sustained, could hamper longer-term employment growth prospects,” it said.
